Both apply to bards. For Clerics, their gods favor them less(unless it is a same alignment, in which case some demon/devil will shortly pop up to attack a celestial/feindish creature and make her worse). Becvause of the transgrettion, monks and Paladins get derailed, so lose levels. Basically, I just say "you feel a hell of a lot weaker, but now you are a drider(or lycanthrope)" or "Becoming a tauric large spider/gnome makes you forget a lot". This post should stop all the threads about "How do I adjust to LYcanthropy" and other stuff like that. |
| fenrisvulfe0211-20-03, 11:33 PM | Not a bad solution. Another, though probably more typical, is simply increasing the amount of exp required for level up. For example, let's say a character that becomes a werewolf has, oh, +2 ECL, and they are at level five. Now, their effective character level is seven, but they still have a level five character's experience. To get to 'actual' level six they need enough experience to reach level eight. Justification: added templates means the character needs to adapt to a state of being he/she is not used to, and the natural abilities of that template, being more powerful, take longer to master and surpass. I do believe this is actually stated in the DMG... and I rather like it, personally. |
