03-28-06, 10:01 AM one must not speak of the 4th edition, which will be made by Gary Gygax, Monte Cook, Keith Baker and for some strange reason, Richard Garfeild (WoTC is trying to intergrate their various products into one game, sort of like what microsoft is doing with windows + Xbox, i guess). it will be adding 4 new dices: a d1, d30, d67, and d98. various cards (and sets of cards, one new set released every 4 months, every set rotating out of use every 2 years), as well as small paster figurines that look like teapots will represent your characters. a vorpal greatspatula is the default weapon of choice for all characters. the new classes are : Rouge (a mirror to the rogue, except french and red), detect *thump* (a paladin with a liscence to kill. it's default alignment is chaotic stupid [yes,this means a new improved alignment system, which includes the alignements: apathetic, stupid, broken, munchkin, L337ist, and pie. i think mr.cook was hungry when thinking this up]), and OMGWTFLOLROFLHAXX0R (this class has only 1 level and 1 ability called "embodiment of PunPun").

Role-playing will be replaced by bouts of World of Warcraft. who needs RP anyways? combat is now replaced with Diablo 2, point and click. easy enough. skills are now gone and replaced with weapon and non-weapon proficiencies (yay, 2nd ed). PrC's are now replaced with "kits". multiclassing is illegal in most states & provinces, except alaska and quebec. just because. all races, except human, have a level cap of 6. humans start at level 8, cause we rock more then hippy elves or short pants dwarves. every class has it's own XP chart for each race. no 1000 XP * current level = next level formula doodoo for you buddy. the terrasque is now a CR 3 monster. kobolds are now CR20, because the only god is PunPun. he ate all others. with his vorpal spatula gained at first level.

there you go, the inside scoop of 4th edition! strait from the pack mule's mouth.

Haha, this is funny. I discuss drug use on these boards all the time, in fact, i'm discussing them right now! Also, no one discusses anything. A discussion, by definition: a topic of debate or conversation.

I didn't want to report you to the WiZos, but I really have no choice when faced with such a clear and flagrant violation of the rules. The stringent enforcement of the rules is what makes these message boards so wonderful and truly second to none on the Internet. That you would so overtly break the rules, and therefore tear down the carefully constructed system tenuously holding this message board together, is unfortunate. I am sad to say, it forces my hand. You have ruined the message board for everyone with your anti-social behavior.

Not Novemebr of this year. Next year. There are books already written until then for 3.5.
Then WoTC will put out 4.0.

It definately will not suck. Classes with a free feat at every other level, fighters get 2, and things like alignment get tossed. EVERY character class gets magic, which is based off of mana, and many of the rules are streamlined.

There will be no multiclass restrictions, encumbrance issues and skills can be used by any class. PrCs have to be allowed by the DM and a Player can take them as he/she sees fit. There will be no flavor text as WoTC knows that the future gamers will not care about it anyways. Sleeping will still not be an issue for anyone and DMs will be urged to "drop" money and healing potions so the PCs can keep going.

Plots will be a thing of the past. All the DM, now called the "Schmuck" or the "Unlucky Guy", will have to do is keep monsters coming. They will also be expected to avoid TPKs, allow the Players to do anything (I mean anything) and award those players smart enough to fully optimize their PCs. DMs also must give out "save points" and "reset rewards" so that in case of a PC death they may come back with full health and vigor.

In short...4th edition will be just like a video game.
