08-10-06, 10:04 PM John Finny of the San Fernando Finny's? Has kinda a height to him, has some kinda hair, eyes are colored? Smells like something? Is somewhere in the age range of 8 to 80?

You can't cast Immediate action spells while flatfooted. When do you think you can cast spells when flatfooted anyway? You're usually flatfooted because it hasn't been your turn yet. Finny's right.

And also... get this off the boards!

08-10-06, 10:26 PM California is a big place, man. Big enough you couldn't quite fill it if the population included 1 representative of every elven subrace known to man. It's pretty optimistic to assume anyone that happens to live in California will know this person.

But...YOU said his last name was Finny. We call people by their last names sometimes.

Also. "." is a period. Feel free to use it at your leisure so you don't sound like a chipmunk on caffiene. Was gonna say something else, but, I need to reread the CoC to see if it's okay.

flat footed- unable to cast spells or use any magic item, however you are immune to magic
(this was chosen at start af the campaing and had nothing to do with AC.

Here's what you do.

Whenever he says something wrong, slap him.

Whenever you see him pick up a rule book and read it, hand him a cookie.

This is conditioning. He will learn eventually that the real rules are good and making random crap up is bad.

Also, though I am from California, I am farther up north, near the capitol, so I do not know "Finny."

08-10-06, 10:43 PM Did he try to teach you how to use a message board too? In particular which section a particular topic belongs under? If he was a bad DM then the proper section is "What's a Player to do?" which is where players grouse about poor DM's. I don't know if the board has a dirty laundry and public name-calling section. Most posters who wan't to complain about a player or DM just describe a personality or relate his actions instead of a real name call-out.

Will was trying to see if finnys old DM had problems with him or if he too didn't know how to play this game.

P.S. I don't really mind you or your friends posting on this post, since it does sort of pertain to DMs, but the other's seem to have been angered by this great injustice. Might want to tell Will to be more careful next time, lest you be flamed. Or you can do what so many others do, and start this post with "I don't know where to put this, so I think it goes here, sorry." That seems to work pretty well.

08-10-06, 11:01 PM I knew a "Skinny Finny" from my days in Huntington Beach but he rode my wave and I told him to go back to the Valley. I don't know if its the same guy but if it is tell him that I said hello and that I hope that his wave etiquette has improved.

Oh...and tell him that Jager tells him to read more and to stop coming up with his own ideas.

If you knew Finny's GM's user name on these boards (if he even has one), that would be a start. Right now you've got nothing.
