Any such item? [Archive] - Wizards Community

One of my players (barbarian) is looking to get an item made that makes him immune to fatigue.
Can't recall anything that does that, but I figure there'd be enough calls for it that it's probably in one of the various books...?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Otherwise, I'm thinking around 2000 to 3000 gp, immune to fatigue effects, reduces exhausted effects to fatigued. Ring, belt or amulet.
(Lesser restoration is only Pal 1 (Clr/Drd 2), and does a lot more...)

Lesser restoration also works only once per casting. Let's face it, it looks like your player wants to munchkinize his barbarian rage- one point of the rage ability is to give the barbarian discretion- if he or she uses the ability they must pay if they cannot defeat their foes by the end of the rage. Otherwise they become fatigued, and cannot rage again that battle. There is a good reason that there is no such item in the core books. You might find something in a complete book or another supplement, but I'm 99% certain this player is just powergaming. If you do decide to use such an item, I'd make him earn it.

One level in the Horizon Walker PrC with desert as the chosen terrain will get him what he wants. But yeah, this is really munchkinny.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking, but he's not really that kind of player.
I'd have to say over the years I've never considered him a powergamer or munchkin. Sure, he tends to lean towards the 'kick in the door' (or face) style of play, but he doesn't try to min/max or 'optimize' his characters, just builds them as 'makes sense' for what they're like and what they've been thru...

As for the item, the fatigued penalties have little effect on his char, and hence on the game. I suspect he mainly wants it just to simplify keeping track of his modifiers.
Really it just gets him the ability 4 levels earlier. It not like you can't buy other items that give feats or class abilities...

So, he's looking for this item at 13th level? (Tireless rage comes at 17th unless I'm missing something).

There are a lot better things that a 13th level character should be looking for...

Remember that if you make an item that makes him immune to fatigue, it would also allow him to keep on walking forever, because he would never tire or need to rest.

There is a feat in Players Guide to Faerun that does what you want. I believe it is a regional feat you can only take at 1st level (which just seems wrong to me, but whatever). If he wants it, I don't see why he couldn't get it as a feat or if you go with the feat on an item thing it would cost around 20,000gp.

The Spell "Favored of Illmater" does this. All the Faerun gods grant it, but he's famous for making it up in the first place.

However, I would rule it that the fatigue is part of the rage ability and can't be avoided like that without tireless rage. Have him make up 3 seperate stat charts and dmg charts (Help him out with this if ya wanna) so he can keep track. When he rages, pull out sheet 2, when he's done raging, sheet 3.

Heck, ya think that's bad? Have a Barb/Frenzied Bezerker/ Psionic Warrior. He can Expand, Rage, Frenzy or mix them up. Has a sword, halbard and one of the powers that gives him claws and the dmg is based on his size. The man has 13 sheets of paper for his character and none of it is backstory.

Chainmail of the unending hunt, one of the complete books, Arcane or Warrior.
