| Realmsman12-04-03, 01:07 AM | I've decided to start running a 1700's style pirate/swashbuckling campaign, but there really just isn't alot of info for it in Dnd books. I know there is a prestige class for pirates in one of the class books and I believe there was a book put out involving ships and seafaring combat, etc. I was looking for the name of that book and any useful links or books for Naval Combat and Pirate/Seafaring jargin. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. |

I don't know about third edition, but in 2nd Edition there was "Pirates of the Sea of Fallen Stars", a more or less world specific book on pirates in the forgotten realms, but it was mostly fluff and ideas for adventures. They also had "Of Ships and the Sea" a rules expansion that dealt with maritime combat, effects of underwater fighting and handling ship-to-ship boarding, etc. |

Its a good book IMO. You might also try the Seas of Blood. Same type of book, different company (don't remember the name...). Though with more impressive ships (very big!). |
