I recently started DMing for a group of friends but I have yet to find a half-decent mapping program (I would be using a paper grid, but I can't find a store that sells any, or a program to create it <_<)

I have used Fractal Mapper, but my computer keeps tinting EVERYTHING bright red ever since I got Service Pack 2

So then I went on a quest to find a good program... and failed.

So anyways, does anyone know/use a program specifically for Dungeons (to draw them, not generate them :p)

I assume you are referring to WinXP SP2, you might want to try getting the latest video drivers directly from ATI or Nvidia. The SP2 install might have reverted you to MS default drivers.

Actually I found out because I was using the trial version , the update that would have solved everything was only for the full version. :(

But I do have the latest drivers for mostly everything on this piece of junk :D

I've found Dundjinni very useable and can produce some pretty good results, particularly if you download some of the user community art as well.

You can also print out maps at battlemap-scale, complete with markings, which can really bring an encounter to life.

I have used Dunjinni - it looks very nice and I like it, though I find that it works kind of....clunky.

Autorealm (http://www.gryc.ws/autorealm.htm) is a wonderful FREE map program that I find works pretty darn well. I use it a lot.

Yay :D

the other day I tried out AutoREALM and I love it :D

the only question is how can I ensure that my map will print out on the 1-inch miniature scale? I am not quite sure how to tell >_>

anyways thanks for all the help everyone, now I can start working on my new campaign ^_^
