It is clearly stated that aquatic elves can be out of the water for a number of hours equal to their constitution. However, nothing that I can find mentions how long the elf must be back in the water before they get their full benefit back again. For instance, I thought think that it would be rediculous if an aquatic elf with a CON of 10 was out of water for 10 hours then jumped back in the water for 6 seconds, took a breath, and then jumped out again with another full 10 hours to go. Has anyone else ever run across this problem? How did you deal with it or do one of other supplemental books deal with it? Stormwrack sure doesn't. |

I'd have to suggest 10 minutes per hour spend out of water. Just to moisten up the gills for another go 'round Our Aquatic elf gets around this by wearing a band around her neck near her gills which grants her the ability to breathe normally out of water, sort of like water breathing in reverse. If you want the item in your game to avoid the hassle, simply let the player know that it exists and where it can be purchase or try to get it to the player by some other means. Or just keep counting the hours and do the suffocation thing, whichever's clever. |
