| Vinnuci09-11-06, 09:07 AM | Hi.. I am DMing a game for a 12th lvl group.. The players were dumped into Archaron . I have very little experience in running games set in the Planes and especially Archaron.. My source books are limited and I have had a devil of a time trying to find enough info on Archaron Basically I just need a few pointers as to what kind of evil I can inflict on them...:evillaugh |

There's suppose to be lots of broken down warmachines and abandoned battlefields there. I believe the environment resembles many cubes of metal forever drifting in space and crashing into each other. Whenever a cube crashes into another one, all the surviving armies from one cube hops onto the other cube to do battle. Possible adventure ideas are a)Have your players end up in the middle of a battlefield between armies. They can choose sides , fight everyone or just get the hell out of there. b)They can be stalked by an ancient warmachine ( advanced iron golem, advanced retriever or something like that) c)The characters are near ancient ruins that holds some weapon being sought by devil for use with the blood war. Throw in some rival demons to make things interesting. d)The characters violated the sanctum of Hextor ( or some other equivalent war god ) Have them get chased out by golems, cultists, aspects of hextor, or whatever you wish to throw at them to get them really scared. ( I would go with fiendish wartrolls heh) Thats all I can think of for the moment , but I'm sure you get the idea. |

It costs you five bucks, and there is about 60-70 pages on Acheron alone. What's nice it is mostly fluff, and you can easily use a lot of the ideas without messing with a lot of mechanics. |

It's a plane of continual battle, where each layer has free-floating metallic solids (cubes on the first layer, polyhedrons of all kinds on another, and the lowest is more a storm of razor-sharp plates ranging from 'needle' to 'continent' in size) that constantly crash together; the inhabitants are engaged in perpetual war - some area are fortified, others are bloody battlefields. Bring some earplugs, the collisions between those cubes can get noisy. |

I live in South Africa and prices for books are are mental so to buy the Manual of the Planes on such short notice is not really possible.. |
