| Ao10-30-04, 12:22 PM | I've looked through all my core books, splat books, dungeon mags, dragon mags, old modules and gazeteers, even some of my ancient tomes of 1st and 2nd edition lore. I know that somewhere there are rules for running competitions, tournament style jousts, archery competitions, etc... Can anyone help me find a source covering this subject? |

I generally set an AC for the bullseye (somewhere around 25) then determine where the arrow lands by how much it misses (each ring ends up 5 lower than the previous). For tie-breaking, the winning archers keep shooting until one of them hits the bullseye where the other misses. Don't forget to include other activities too- you can have a melee, a joust, some sleight of hand games, some mental games, magic shows, banquets, dances, etc. Archery may be the main event, but you can have plenty of things for people of other skills to do. |

Anyway, it had lots of really neat information concerning feudal society, and a whole chapter on tournaments. |
