Arena Combat [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-06-06, 09:43 AM I'm cooking up some ideas for a sort of home-base city for my PCs, and I'd like there to be an arena. Any ideas where I could get info on how arenas are run? Thanks.

10-06-06, 09:49 AM Wait do you mean traditionally or like in fantasy worlds? cause traditionally only slaves fought in the arena, which ment beggar and criminal only :P

10-06-06, 09:52 AM Fantasy, say you just pick something randomly their level off the MM, they fight enough, they get a prize(assuming they win ofcourse). Also, feel free to make class levelled guys for the arena, in fact, that's probably best.

10-06-06, 11:29 AM If you want to get creative you can introduce a gladiatorial class into the city's society. They could be akin to artisans or laborers and have certain societal benefits or hindrances based on how you choose to rank them.
