Arming the Valkyrie [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-21-04, 12:27 PM Hihi, I'm making up a valkyrie profile style valkyrie, she's 12th level paladin, I;ve got the following equipment so far:

+1 mythral breastplate
+1 animated mythral large steel shield

I'm debating between a longsword or bastard sword (martial wield) for arming, as well as what misc items to give her...

I don't think I've ever seen/heard of a Valkyrie without a spear.

And I think most of the time they have wings. So something that allows you to fly.

And, viking helm.

10-21-04, 12:52 PM At 12th level you should have at least a +2 weapon and armor. you have TONS of loot at that level, even if it is an npc. Valkyrie npc wouldn't need much as far as misc. gear, as she would be the enforcer type. hook her up with some fat gear and spend that loot that a 12th level character should have. I'm not saying to be a munchkin, but use what is given to you, and don't sell yourself short. i don't have my books handy right now, but you might also check to see what abilities your special mount has.. valkyries will want a flyer.

10-21-04, 12:56 PM Have her ride a pegasus, and use holy either spear, axe, or warhammer (i have seen all three), the armor sounds good to me. If she can afford it, Horn of Valhalla! :fight!:

10-21-04, 01:59 PM I'm basing her on Lenneth Valkyrie from Valkyrie Profile, which is why im using a sword. and I do plan to upgrade equipment further, thats just BARE MINIMUM to get it 'templated'.

10-21-04, 02:38 PM Make her a dwarf. Seriously, the dwarves are heavily based on the Germanic Gothic tribes of old that believed in Valkyries, with their huge beards, love of axes, and runic letters.
