Before I start, let me apologize. I know this description will be vague, but I just can't remember what its called or where I saw it.

I was looking through one of the source books (FR CS or MoF from what I recall) and I saw an armor/shield special ability that allowed the user to use the daylight spell 2/day or something very similar.

If anyone can think of what I might have saw or am remembering please post it here. I looked through my 3.0 and 3.5 FR books and an assortment of other sourcebooks last night and I can't seem to find it anywhere. I wanted to use this ability on my Paladin's new armor.

EDIT: I know, shoulda been in What's A Player To Do forum, but I clicked on the wrong forum and posted before I noticed it. If any mods wanna move it go for it.

Thanks in advance.

Actually, it should probably be in the Dungeon Master's Guide forum, since that's generally where armor and weapon special abilities are discussed. As to your question, I'm sorry but I don't know.

WOOT!

I found it.

For those of you interested. - Pg. 154 of the 3.0 Forgotten Realms Faiths and Pantheons sourcebook.

Daylight special ability - 30 min/day your armor or shield will glow as a daylight spell.

It was originally printed in Defenders of the Faith, page 23.
I knew that because I've got a weather themed Sorceress that will be getting the Daylight enchantment on a pair of Dastana (hey, weather doesn't mean just raging storms, it also means bright sunny days).

So if you've got a DM that doesn't like Faerun stuff, point him towards the DotF version instead. Exact same enchantment. Least I think it is. Daylight still a +2 bonus in Faerun?

It didn't list a +bonus value, instead it said +2,200gp. Thats roughly a +1 bonus in cost, so i'd assume its a +1. At least thats my best guess.

Actually, that being the case, it's not considered a "+ modifier" at all. It's just a flat fee that doesn't otherwise interfere with further enchantments. I noticed these types of abilities popping up in FR. In 3.5 these "flat fees" replace the "+ modifier" for a number of what can only be called "lesser abilities" such as elemental resistances and glamered effects.

My armor spreadsheet has it listed as a +2 enhancement. I found it in either the DMG 3.5, or the Arms and Equipment Guide (otherwise it wouldn't be on my sheet).

Keep in mind though that the Arms and Equipment Guide is early 3.0.
