In some cases, cover may provide a greater bonus to AC and Reflex saves. In such situations the normal cover bonuses to AC and Reflex saves can be doubled (to +8 and +4, respectively). A creature with this improved cover effectively gains improved evasion against any attack to which the Reflex save bonus applies. Furthermore, improved cover provides a +10 bonus on Hide checks.

05-02-07, 05:57 PM In situations like that I normally rule there are no critical hits. If it requires a 20 to hit, that doesn't also mean the 20 threatens a critical. Just an idea.

05-02-07, 06:15 PM This one's a real toughie. To be honest it depends on how realistic you want this to be. For realism you could have it that attacks only hit on threatened criticals. Or you could just use the cover rules, I'm pretty sure that one of the books has it specifically for arrow slits somewhere. Not the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook, I already checked.

Its called "Cover". The book specifically mentions arrow slits.
