| Robert_Fox_Kitsune05-15-06, 08:08 AM | ok- quick background. The party is- Strelken, level 3 half elf ranger, Cimr, a level 3 human druid, (with a wolf) Jasin a level 2 gnome bard and AJ a level 3 human fighter (just started) Currently, the grup are on the trail of an evil wizard whom is continuinly sending assasians after them in order to retrieve a magic item in thier possession. They don't know about this item They received a note from this women ella, who leads the assasians guild. They do not know this. They managed to infiltrate the undergrund hideout- under a tavern, cliche as it is, and the true colors of this women have been revealed. They cannot leave, as they need A magic ward carried only by Ella to escape- so basicly- no leaving til you take care of her. Besides, they want to know where, to find the wizard At the moment, the fighters, very headstrong, has set off on his own. I'm concerned he'll die- thats problem one Problem two- I've set the encounter with Ella, when they finnaly reach her, as in a room full of pillars- a hall to her chambers. She'll have rogues with her (2nd level.a constant stream of three in the room at once- 12 in supply). Therefore we're looking at lots of sneak attacks, and maybe some death attacks. I'm quite keen to use the Disguise self spell for Ella, but she can only use once. I need help to pull this off properly, as the only girl in the part is the bard, jasin, and shes a gnome (Ella is human...) Problem three- my party, thanks to a fun trap of sorts, is now mortally afraid of halflings. (long story involving an hourglass, a lantern, and loss of body parts). The issue being that an NPC halfling paladin is inbound to help them. and is arriving in a days game time. General advice on how he can present himself to start with so he's not shot on sight? The only real problem is the disguise thing- as if i can pull it off it would be a good battle. |

Get the fighter back with the group, and hope that they don't just randomly shoot people on sight? That's bleak, man. Maybe have some NPC overheard talking about how he couldn't "strike a target's vitals" because they were standing back to back with an ally. Hints are the obtuse player's best friend. -TRRW |

| Robert_Fox_Kitsune05-15-06, 09:04 AM | Its just halflings- and in the circumstances I think I can understand it. REALLY scared the party. Admittedly, i'd rather it didn;t ernd in TPK, but at the same time one or 2 deatsh wouldn;t go amiss. I think my parties a bit cocky, and too sure they're invincible... I could give some enemies in there more personality. They DO listen to their enemies...beofre gutting them. I have a creative team. Thanks for the quick replies |

I'm concerned he'll die You could have the enemies attack to capture and have the fighter tied up in the "final-fight" room when the party reaches him. This way they could feasibly get him back into combat. I need help to pull this off properly, as the only girl in the part is the bard, jasin, and shes a gnome (Ella is human...) How about a scroll of Alter Self instead? General advice on how he can present himself to start with so he's not shot on sight? I think as long as you introduce him in the middle of a combat with him leaping into view and attacking their enemies, you might have a chance. Have him talk to the PCs during combat to establish a rapport. This will hopefully prevent them from setting on him as soon as the baddies are dispatched. |
