| Silver Dragon01-27-05, 12:07 PM | hi, I'm working on a campaign, and at a certain point there should be an assassination atempt on (at least) one of the PC's. It should fail (I don't want them to die without their own being stupid) and I would want them to interrogate the assassin so they find out who is responsible. (so they can go and kill him:)) 3Q's: - how do I stop the PC's from killing the assassin(s)? - the 5 PC's are lvl 8/9, how strong would I make my assassin to make him believable? - at what time during interrogation should an assasin speak? (they're supposed to be proffesionals) thx, Silver Dragon |

PCs sometimes go a little crazy. Make the assassin strong enough to easily kill one of the PCs if things go the assassin's way. A coup-de-grace when the PCs sleeping isn't too hard for anyone. You shouldn't have to make him any tougher, assassin's are hardly front-line fighters. On the one hand, a professional won't want to give up his client, on the other hand, a pro won't be willing to suffer permanent injury/dismemberment/death just for the contract. He'd keep quiet to a point, but if the PCs prove determined then he'll be civil and forthcoming, expecting similar treatment in kind. If you watch Alias on TV I would recommend someone like Sarke. |
