I recently purchased the hardcover Shacked City adventure path for my players. We are involved in a current campaign, so the Shackled City won't be used until they are ready to start fresh with new players.

I have been reading the book, and there's a lot of information to take in. Has anyone ran this adventure path for their players before? Did you like it, or do you have any tips for running it?

I have run it start to finish. I found it to be a ton of fun, and do did the players. Here's what I did. First I sped-read the whole thing. Since I don't speed-read, that meant ti read the interesting parts, the opening chapters and what they were, and a select few encounters of that chapter.

Before each session, I re-read that chapter (or half-a chapter is what they usually got through) word by word. I looked up each monster stat block as I came to them. I took notes.

The only thing I did to make my life easier that I know not all DMs have time for is I used my computer's scanner to copy the stat blocks I needed for that night and printed them out to have them all in one place. There's nothign worse than flipping around in the back of the book when usining multiple opponents. This also allow me to make notes on the pages I printed about tactics, spell reference, and the like.

I hope you enjoy it, it's a lot of fun!

P.S. The first adventure is fun but darn tedious. Shrink the initial dungeon and give them more city-based challenges to level them up! :D
