| Kyamsil01-04-05, 05:16 AM | Hello. One of my players has been reading Complete Divine and he has come up with something that is somewhat powerful. Another of the players has a Cleric/Radiant Servant with the Augment Healing feat. Now, this players says that you can use the Augment Healing feat with the Vigor saga of spells as they are Conjuration(Healing). That would result (if possible) in ridiculous amounts of fast healing being gained by the players. For example: Vigorous Circle, being a 6th level spell would be 3 + 6x2 = Fast Healing 15 to 1 creature/2 levels. I as DM have ruled out that this could really happen. My reasons for it being disallowed is that the Augment Healing mentions that it adds to the "Amount of damage healed by Conjuration (Healing) spells", while the Vigor saga of spells give the special quality of "Fast Healing" of different amounts depending on the exact spell. I see it as two different things as the spells per'se don't heal any amount of damage but give Fast Healing. It's the same as other Conjuration (Healing) spells like Restoration or Remove Disease that would net no benefit from having the Augment Healing feat. Has anyone faced this before? How did you deal with it? I couldn't find any refer to it on previous posts on the forum, FAQs or offiicial erratas, is there any "official" ruling about it? Thanks. |

However, looking at Augment Healing and Vigor mechanically, I've come up with another possible interuptation. While Vigor tecnicallly gives the subject fast healing, it's still qualifies as spells which 'heals damage'. However, Augment Healing just says it adds +2 hp/spell level. That's to the total healing increase it applies to the spell. For example of Vigorous Circle, that would mean the subjects heal 12hp (6x2) right off the bat, and then get the benefits of 3/fast healing as normal for the spell. |

But I think of it more like if the specific spell doesn't have any amount of healing damage you just can't add any number to that amount. It could be handled in any of those two ways with no problem. Any other ideas or oppinions? |

I believe we decided that the Augment Healing bonus applies only once, but your interpretation, that fast healing is different from curing and the vigor spells don't benefit from the Augment Healing feat at all, is a good one too.
