| dark211209-27-05, 07:24 PM | So, I've got a question here. A player of mine has recently used Baleful Polymorph to transform a creature into a 1HD animal, and due to the failed saves, said creature is for all intents and purposes permanently said animal. No problems there, until the party druid decides to capture said animal (easily done considering the average party level), and spontaneously decides to awaken the animal. (With some conferencing and the currently empty cohort slot that another PC has in their Leadership feat) So far, everything is fine. The animal form even has opposable thumbs, so can weild equipment just fine. The question comes from this - Awaken grants the animal one language, plus one per intelligence bonus, that the caster of the Awaken spell knows. Said druid doesn't have many languages, and said animal managed to pull off a 15 on the intelligence roll. Which brings me to the question. Can the animal learn Druidic from the druid? It's an exclusive languages known only to druids, but the druid isn't exactly teaching the language, it's being magically imprinted... or is it? I'm thinking I'm going to rule that the language isn't learned, but I'd like something more than just gut instinct when I tell this to the rest of the group. Thanks. |
