Hey everyone,

I run a saturday night game, and one of my players doesnt really understand how his secondary attacks affect his B.A.B. and vice versa, heck i dont really understand it either. He's an 8th level Druid so he has a +6/+1 B.A.B. and he's using the Shapeshifting variant from the PHB2, so his strength goes up by +8 when he shifts into Ferocious Slayer form. He also gains a bite and two secondary claw attacks.

If his strength is a 10 in human form and an 18 in Slayer form, than if he takes a full attack action: his first attack (a bite) is at a +10, while his secondary attack (a claw) is at a +5, and than his third attack (the last claw) is at a +3?

I'm a little confused on this, does it use the two weapon fighting table or do the secondary attacks both use the second atk bonus from being an 8th level druid. If anyone can assist me in determing what to use i would most appreciate it.

Thank you

BAB does not give extra attacks with Natural weapons, you only ever get one bite attack etc.

with 1 bite and two claws, his bite would be +10 and both claws would be at +5, unless he takes Multi attack, which would reduce the penalty on his secondary attacks so they would be +8.

Now if he was holding, say, a longsword in one hand, his full attack would be like this:
Bite +10, Longsword +10/+5 and one Claw +5.

I believe that the shapeshift druid variant voids the use of manufactured weapons. In the more general case of using manufactured and natural weapons simultaneously, however, the manufactured weapons are always considered primary, while the natural weapons are considered secondary (-5 to attack rolls). Multiattack and Improved Multiattack reduce that penalty to -2 and -0, respectively.

TwiddleStootch is correct on the attack roll modifiers for the OP's case.

And thus sword +10/+5, bite +5, claw +5 (or +8 and +8, with Multiattack). Assuming the combo is even legal.
