Muzi 09-27-05, 11:58 AM	heej guys.. i can guess this has been done alot times but couldnt find anything like it so lets see where this goes... Well the problems is specially at epic levels, if a pc dies (they dont as easy for the pc's are scared of investing a week in an character). But still the problem exist for dm's for new PC's without sufficient background to make epic levels interesting for epic levels are much about contacts, past experiences etc etc. To make it easy on them i think it will be great for all players and specially DM's i want to put up a list with question qhich should be answered in a background. So please help out with this one because we all will take advantage of it. I will put all the Questions in a single post in a couple of days and post it here. PS: pls take in to account that epics are played aswell (lvl 41, meaning they are deific) Background questions for PC's: 1. What is your name? 2. Where did you grow up? 3. Who is your mother/father? what do they do for living, where do they live? how is your relation with them? describe family situation... 4. What is your drive force? (not like i wanna be stronger, but clear goals/ambitions) 5. Who are your friends and enemies? 6. Where did you meet those and how is your relation with them? (also for enemies) 7. What is your relation to several "important" npc's in that world? 8. Name at least one thing you're afraid of... (everybody is afraid of something) 9. Name at least one thing you're absolutely fond of. 10. Name atleast some locations where you have lived 11. Come up with some heroic past actions which are meaningfull for your char With these question a dm can build a nice world around the pc's (specially usefull for epic) please continue the list or maybe comments or whatever... but please post :P
Lonestar 09-27-05, 12:02 PM	All I know is that my DM was always insistant on backround. He would give you roleplaying exp for a good typed one. My 3 page backstory for my LG monk made him proud to have me as a player. However, remember, if you are going to have your characters have such long backstories, don't ignore them. Integrate them into the campaign to make your world feel truly alive and to reward your players. My last DM ended up having an entire campaign arc take place around my characters past, and it had to be the most amazing campaign I have ever done. He integrated backstories into the campaign masterfully.
