| yellowhippo66610-23-04, 03:30 AM | Hi, Last night, my group finally solved their current adventure. The found an evil priest was acting under the guise of a good priest in a village. He will also killing villagers off and turning them to undead. He had tricked the previous priest there to go on an undercover mission to find out what another evil cult has been doing. Now the party are chasing after the good priest and trying to locate him. On their journey they stopped at another church of the good god and pasted on all the info they knew, and also mentioned that they believe the good church may have others within their ranks who are evil. Has anyone ran any campaigns that have had churchs of good alignments become populated by a few evil people for whatever reason? This was an angle I had not thought of, but when it was mentioned last night I liked the sound of it. The 2 evil factions are both against each other and now one of these evil factions is using a priest from a good god to investigate their enemies for them. For the record the party is level 1. In one scenario like that the Cleric wasn't even actively evil, just under the mental domination of someone who was, and it added a layer to it worked nicely as when he was himself, the Priest couldn't remmeber the things he'd been doing when dominated and was working WITH the PC's (in the slums of Rooks Haven) to find the perosn who was murdering "his flock". Yellowhippo Sure, unless, **name of the deity in question** is getting sick and tired of doing all of the thinking for his supposed servants, so instead he refuses to answer their questions, sowing even more doubts and acting as a test of their faith as well as of their abilities. They are HIS (or HER) servants after all. He (or SHE) is not their servant. Isshia |
