| Fencerboy02-08-07, 11:23 AM | I just woke up to the fact that I'm DMing at 1:00 this afternoon and I don't have a REALLY good BBEG. Please bail me out (and give me crap for not being prepared, if you must...) CR should be between 3-5, I'll change the minions to fit. It's set in a forest occupied by centaurs and wood woads. This BBEG wants them all destroyed so the forest can hide a secret item... Plz help me out!! :ton: <-- my monsters by 12:00 (optomistic view) :monk: :help: :monk: <-- if I don't get anything |
| PhaedrusXY02-08-07, 11:34 AM | You might find something in the stickied thread at the top of this forum (the Encounter Resource Thread). Edit: Or how about a Barghest (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/barghest.htm)? I think those guys have potential. Give him some goblin underlings, and have him escape to come back later. He can eat some (famous) people whenever you need to power him up. :D |
| Lazzmaniandevil02-08-07, 11:34 AM | Maybe you could find what you're looking for at NPC Wiki (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/D20_NPCs_by_Challenge_Rating)... This CR5 ogre druid (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Ogre_Druid_4) might work.... |
| RobbyPants02-08-07, 12:19 PM | I was thinking something of a gnoll ranger (Lvl 4). You could make his favored enemy something like humans, elves, or fey (or whatever you feel is appropriate). Throw in a few other gnolls with no class levels if you want some minions. By 4th level, the ranger should have an animal companion (although it'd be arguably weak for its master's CR). It's up to you if you want him to be a TWFer or an archer. If you're looking to up his damage output, have him use two weapons, and give him EWP(Dwarven Waraxe) and Oversized TWF, so he can use one in each hand (for 1d10 damage on each attack). This is about the best I can do with the given information. Good luck! :D |
| Xandria02-08-07, 12:46 PM | There was a trap on the Trap Thread with a forest and plants that went off. It would be interesting...Would you like me to find it? |
| Fencerboy02-08-07, 09:17 PM | lol, thanks guys, you been a great help. I'm actually putting a barghest in at later levels once its already done some feasting, but it's still a good idea. We actually didn't play today, 3 out of 5 players missing = MTG all afternoon... This is actually good because it gives me more time to work all this out and set it down to the nitpicky details. |
| LordQuazk02-08-07, 11:48 PM | Richard Simmons. He comes with his own minions. Actually, I was going to use him as a random sidequest villain in my campaign, but I don't think I've done enough research on him. Like, any. Not that it'll stop me, I think they'll get the reference when he's named "Madman Simmons" |
| Fencerboy02-09-07, 07:07 PM | That would only fit into a horror based campaign. And he is at LEAST CR 20 due to his aura of Dispel Masculinity, and horrid scent of doom. eek |
