Recently, my PCs were blocked in an area by a Wall of Ice spell. One party member decides he's gonna try to just break through with his bare hands, and, as one might expect, fails to hit the break DC on the wall. After this, he gives up. The clincher, is his weapon, strapped to his back during all this, was a Flaming Burst Admantine Greatsword. I woulden't have even asked for ROLLS almost @_@. |
| Hinthas10-29-06, 03:57 AM | This is not so much as Stupid as it is "Yeah, that figgers." Ten years ago, I had the rare opportunity to play a Kender Jester (7th lvl) that was involved in the slaying a superbeast like Grendel. The DM wasn't nearly on top of his game when he forgot that my character had a 100 ft roll of Bungee Vine that stetched an additional 50 ft. The area around some Uber-sword we needed was severely hazardous and the only way to get it was from the air. While the rest of the party was occupied with the beast, my Kender was piggy-back behind another character on the back of his dragon (I still don't know how that happened). The dragon saddle had a sizeable pommel and the one end of the Bungee Vine was tied around it. The other end of the vine was tied around the ankles of my Kender (3 slots in rope use) who GLEEFULLY dived over the side of the dragon to retrieve the Uber-sword. Once there, the DM decided to touch attack (I got the sword) my character. "Yer dead! The sword hit you for this amount of damage because of your alignment." A 7th level Kender Jester gets there because of his wits and I had them alongside a pair of TONGS. After I showed the DM my character sheet to prove this, he had his moment. I'm no longer allowed to play Kenders OR Jesters and ESPECIALLY never both at the same time. Bummer..... |
