I think I had one of the pinnacles of my storytelling in a game last night, when my PCs realized that they had, upon opening this tomb, broken an ancient seal imprisoning the armies of the Wind God. They beat the boss fight and whatnot, but realized they HAVE to seal this area up, especially after seeing the gigantic pit thats essentially a swirling whirlwind (portal to elemental plane of air). It's one of those 'you had to be there' moments, but when the party member with fast healing, who usually waits 5 or so minutes to regain HP before moving on says, with 1 HP left (2 by the time he was done talking), "We gotta get outta here, and tell da dwarves to seal dis place up NOW! forget the ruins!" and procceeds to start hauling.

The long time vampire bbeg in our campaign summoned the PCs and requested a truce while we fight a greater evil..His only request was that the PCs stop killing all of his underlings. the reply to this was that they would agree to stop killing the underlings if the underlings stoped leaving maps to their headquarters on the temple doors. Not only was it a great moment but it was true we never actively hunted them but they did keep leaving maps and we all had a good laugh afterward.
