Beware! I know Kung Fu... [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-29-03, 10:47 PM One of my newest players has just created one of the most orginal characters I seen. He plays a human monk that was in a magical sound experment accident resulting in his voice being thown off giving him a "dubed voice" effect like in the old cheesy Kung Fu flicks.

Gan ju(monk):I hope you slept well last nite! for now you die! hoooiee....<assumes a funky kung fu pose>
everyone else: :uh-huh: dude why is his lips moving like that?
Gan Ju: your kung fu is strong! but you cannot hope to defeat me! HA! haha HA! Now! prepair yourself! Hi-yah!

I must say that this was one of the more orginal characters I seen in a while.

Post some of your players or your own fresh concepts. It refershing to see a more light hearted approach to gaming.

07-29-03, 11:53 PM Well,I am currently playing a one handed halfling druid. Lost his hand when he was young by poking a sleeping bear. A druidic elder of his commonwealth found him and opted to train him,as he had not been afraid of the bear, even when it was awake.

And he is now a surrogate Older brother/Father figure to an elven sorceress, all the while dating the twin sister of the elven rake in the party. :love: (hey, he's as tall lying down as he is standing up... :smirk: ) His animal companion is his dog Stiltzkin.

His name is "Icky" Ichabod Rollingwood.

I once had a Halfling thief(2nd ed) in a campaign where the DM wanted HIGH magic, giving every character low level spellcasting ability (heavy houseruling). I had picked Flaming Sphere and Jump at random, and also an insanity (Up until then I had only played paladins, so I figured I'd go for the distance) of being delusional. So, after avoiding EIGHT goblin strikes in a single turn ("Well, you must have jumped straight up to avoid all those..." was his explanation), and cast Flaming Sphere and Jump(In a 10'ft high room. OUCH!), I decided to gain an italian accent and stroke a nonexistant beard. :smirk: Gotta guess?

07-30-03, 02:42 AM I made a half elven ranger in 2ed whose reason for traveling was to make the world safe for pet pigs after his was stolen from the pen and slaughtered by trolls. His species enemies were trolls and people who hurt pigs. Yes, the DM allowed two species enemies. Loads of fun to play.

I also made another character named Lug Jawbreaker, human fighter, who was obsessed with "shiny rocks." Not gems, not jewels, shiny rocks. At one point we were in combat near a river at dawn, and when the sun shone on the rocks, Lug dropped his sword to go to the river filled with "shiny rocks."

One player in a game I ran had a half ogre named Crush who had a fondness for mages and alchemists because they made this stuff called shampoo that helped him get the tangles and knots out of his hair when he washed it (he was very fond of his hair and used to comb it with a rose bush 100 strokes a day, not that he could count that high). Crush had another fondness...small furry animals. He would break off from anything to capture the small furry animal which he would then pet and love and squeeze and name George.

By that point he would be bored with them so he'd eat them.
