| albinomonkeyking11-02-06, 02:22 PM | I am nearing the end of my game and I want to give a blessing to a dwarf blacksmith on the team, from the actual god Moradin. The god cannot interact with the PC directly, he will be speaking to him telepathically then grant him his blessing, more or less making him the chosen of Moradin. The pcs are all mid 20's and pretty powerful, one character has Vow of nonviolence stacked with saint and will most likely become the chosen of Sune, the other character can absorb (to a certain degree) magical attacks that are directed at him, and gain pluses instead. The dwarf character has yet to receive his ability, so I want to even out the playing field in terms of power, I just can't decide on what becoming the chosen of Moradin should give. I was thinking something like the beginning part of the Divine feat Earth Mastery, it gives a plus when battling foes that are touching earth as you are. I just can't decide on what the plus should be based on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, should he gain any stat pluses or anything else? Thanks |

If you have Magic of Incarnum, give the dwarf a free soulmeld, and some free essentia to spend on it. There are feats available for all that that can be given as bonus feats. If you have Weapons of Legacy, give the dwarf a weapon of legacy. Use the Bloodcriers Hammer (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20050701a&page=2), for example, or make one up yourself. If you have Races of Stone, consider allowing the dwarf to take substitution levels in cleric (if that's his class); simply replace the cleric level he has with the substitution levels. Alternatively, look at the Magic Forges available for the blacksmith in the book. If you have Complete Divine, give the dwarf the True Believer feat for free, and give him an ancestral relic. Upgrade the relic if it seems underpowered for your level. Hope you have at least one book from that lot. :D |

If so, consider the following - Moradin is a god of creation, forges etc - so why not give the dwarf the ability to make something special. A one time only gift from moradin, the use of moradins own forge tools, and the ability to make an artifact consecrated to the dwarven race. I would say some form of home-brew artifact warhammer. |
