Book Covers [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-22-04, 04:10 PM I'm not sure if this is the best place for this topic, but I'm really curious about your choice in book covers. A fellow DM recomended the fabric-stretchy kind, but are they good? I know they can sometimes pull the books apart, so what do you guys use if any @ all? Thanx!

No book covers here... but it might be a good idea. I've been considering getting some corner/spine reinforcers.

12-22-04, 05:10 PM We play a very high tech game, mainly because we have the resources for it. Yes we do have most of the books but don't use book covers, when a book starts to get frayed and the binding cracks we buy a new book...heh, usually because a new version comes out or have it electronically. The SRD is a great resource for virtually anything you need as far as basics go, this way you never have to thumb through a book when you already have it printed out in your binder or on your laptop.

However I can recommend using brownpaper bag covers like in gradeschool, or duct tape. Fabric covers are just fancy, offer no real protection and are pricey compared to the free bags you can get.

12-22-04, 05:49 PM When I first got the BoVD I also bought a black cover for it. I find that it protects it alot!

Now, the binding is coming apart. I don't know it it is because of the "pressure" from the cover, or just shody binding.

A paper bag might work well too, but I have found that the corners of my BoVD are still in mint condition, but the binding is bad.

12-22-04, 06:32 PM You can always use the old Trapper Keeper folders! That way you can also get you metric to standard conversions if needed! Relive the hell that was High School!
Or don't. I don't. Books still work.
