I was just thinking... what material is they that you'd consider buying a sourcebook to cover?

Personally I'm in need of a 3.5 equivalent of Vile Darkness. I was hoping that Lords of Madness would cover most of it, but then I discovered that it's all about Abberations, and I'm far more into devils and evil human gods, cultists, stuff like that... I'd consider buying the d20 Cthulhu book, but I don't even know where to look.

More material on the gods in general would be nice, at that. Aside from Complete Divine, which I greatly enjoy, almost all the divine material is from earlier editions, what with Deities and Demigods, VD/ED and whatever else... CD is a great book, but doesn't go far enough, and something focused specifically on the gods, not on divine PCs, would be a real asset.

Anything anyone else is looking for?

The thing about 3.0 books is that there's an update booklet on the Wizard's site. Here's a link, if you don't feel like poking around yourself: poof (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a).

Personally I'm in need of a 3.5 equivalent of Vile Darkness. If you want a BoVD type thing, I would HIGHLY suggest that you go to a third party publisher for it. Bottom line is, IMO, WotC's BoVD was dumbed down to keep anything REALLY evil out of it, and instead they seem to have mainly gone for the assumption that gross = evil.

There's relatively little in the BoVD that I would actually call downright-epitome-of-evil stuff. Some of the broadest catagories of ideas they hit work, but they seem (again, to me) to have intentionally skirted anything REALLY evil. Probably to stay out of the fundy limelight.

Even though it is not a sourcebook and there are numerous threads on it, I would REALLY want to get my hands on a 3.5 City of the Spider Queen.

Another book would be the new Waterdeep book.

Yep. Book of Hell (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/d20/detail.php?qsID=439&qsSeries=14) by Mongoose Publishing.

You might want to look into "Champions of Ruin". It's for the Forgotten Realms, but a decent chunk of it can be used anywhere. I like the section on The Cult of the Dragon.

The Book of Fiends (http://www.greenronin.com/catalog/grr1025) from Green Ronin might pique your interest.

Green Ronin also has The Book of the Righteous (http://www.greenronin.com/catalog/grr1015) which has received many solid reviews at Enworld.

rpgnow no doubt has numerous pdfs covering your topics, and have both cheap prices and instant gratification as additional incentives. Dark Masters (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=3309&), for example.
