| Rez12308-19-05, 05:52 PM | Ello everyone. I'm new, and I didn't see any sticky for new member, so I figured I'd say that here. Anyway, on to the question. It's my first time as a DM, and I need some help. I'd like to have the PCs (somehow) start to do work for a bounty hunter's guild. Sorta. Not *actual* bounties. More like, doing something and getting paid for it. I'd make a referance to Arc The Lad 2, but I don't know how many of you have played that. If you HAVE, though, I wanna do something like the Hunters. Basically, there would be a branch in every town, with a different guy giving the jobs in each town. And there'd be different people to meet, and different monsters and such to kill in each place. So, I wanna sorta convert that to a D&D thing. My problem is, I can't really think of any jobs to start them with. So far I've got stuff like "Assassin Vines are attacking travelers in the forest near ______" But, as you know, assassin Vines are not something for first lvl characters to be fighting. So, if any of you have any ideas, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks for your time. |
| JakeQuistis08-19-05, 06:55 PM | I've played Arc, and I understand. It would be more like a Hero's Guild in D&D terms, with jobs posted on the walls and such. Things like wanted criminals, wanted monsters, lost items, etc... Anything too difficult for a normal person to do would be up there. |

| Norhg08-19-05, 09:40 PM | Dire Rat infestation in tavern cellar. Escort Dwarven materials to outlying settlement. Ogres have occupied a bridge. Urgent Removal Needed. Gathering of spell components. Brewing an elixir against some disease. Recovering an injured paladin's lost shield. Locating an escaped imp. Mapping Goblin settlements. Reconsecrating an abandoned, disused, church to protect against the influence of the undead. ... More? |

Anything is accepted, and, since it's my first time, I'll probably use them. Thank you, by the way. |
