It's been a while sense i have needed to post anything but i have just resently started a campaign set in a homebrewed world and have a party of four characters:
all are level 3
half-orc barbarian
elven ranger
elven rouge
elven wizard

the thing is that i like to be a very versital dm and try to make the game as much fun for my players as it is for me anyways the guy who is playing the elven rouge wanted to be a bounty hunter and i was thinking of offering it as a prestige class for him a little later on so i was curious if anyone has done this before and still has a 3.5 template for it are if any one wanted to help me make one by offering suggestions!

thanks again for everything,
Triss Erventine

What other books do you own? Complete Warrior had the Justicar, while Complete Adventurer had the Bloodhound and the Vigilante.

If you don't have these books (or just wanted to make your own class), then best of luck to you - It can be difficult to make balanced prestige classes. Were there any specific abilities you had in mind?

i was thinking that track as a free feat at the first level and then maybe starting about 5th level and then again at 7th and 9th giving him a fear aura to those he is hunting down nothing sever prehaps a will save of 12+charsima at fith level then will 14+charsima @ 7th and at 9th level will save equal to 16+charisma

same skill points as a rouge and hit die

I will defently look at the Complete warrior agian i do have that one not the others though thanks for the helpful post

I think I remember something along those lines in the Kingdoms of Kalamar Player's Handbook, but it's been a few months since I opened that particular tome, so I might be mistaken.

I don't have much time to write so I'll be breif with what I have thought of so far. I too was thinking of making this class, so here goes:

Requirements:
-Track should be a requirement, not an ability. (IMO)
-Gather Information and Intimidate of at least 6 ranks should be required as well.
-CG or CE alignments

Abilities:
Hunter's Mark: A bonus on att/dmg to "bounty." This should be desiganted to encompass one SPECIFIC enemy (i.e - A leader of a rogues guild, not the entire guild.) and should reveal the Hunter's dedication to fulfilling his mission. Perhaps the character can add multiple bounty's at higher levels.

Infamy: A bounty hunter should get +2/+4/+6 on gather info, intimidate, and diplomacy checks every three levles or so as long as the person he's dealing with knows of him. (Whether or not the target knows about him is up to you to decide.)

Sneak Attack: This could be cool if added to the Prestige Class.

HD: d8

*don't have time to look them all up, but progressively, the PC should gain the ability to not be flatfooted and also the evasion abilities.

Oddly enough this is extremely close to the complete adventurer's bloodhound, especially the mark portion, when I first started reading it, I thought you were using a bloodhound.
