This is probably a dumb question, but do bracers count as armour?

I have a player who may not use her special abilities if she's wearing armour. Can she wear her magical bracers that offer no AC bonuses, but give her other abilities?

Thanks fellow DMs,

She can wear them without problems. Bracers can be made of anything, from stiffened cloth to the various types of steel. I don't consider them armor, as in real life they would provide very little protection, if any. Let her have her Bracers of Protection +3. Not a problem.

Monks can't use their abilities (most of them, anyhow) if they wear armor of any kind. The NPC tables in the DMG have Bracers of Armor included in the Monk NPC progression.

I'd say the answer is clear.
