So, how about making a magic item unique by the fact that it has no flavor or history because it's fresh off the forge? Maybe the +1 morningstar feels heavier when you swing it because it creates friction on the Weave that will smooth out if it's used a lot. Maybe the +1 flaming longsword's balance is two inches to the right of the hilt because the creator knew it was going to settle to the left over a period of six months. Maybe the shield of fire resistance has a small pocket of air trapped near the rim that expands and contracts in heat or cold. Anyone else have some ideas for quirks that brand new magic items could have? |
