I'm DMing a game where two of the players have hawks - one for a familiar and one for an animal companion. Their hawks are conveniently of opposite sex, and they wanted to know if they could breed them. But I don't quite know how the genetics would work out for the offspring. Super hawks, double hawks (Dimitri Martin joke ehL Oh ehL), or just regular ass hawks. I suppose I could roll for it at random but I don't know if a familiar - being a magical beast - can breed with a regular animal anyway.

My guess would be a make it a regular hawk with a percentage chance of it being a magical beast instead of a regular animal. The percentage is up to you. I would look up real world info on Hawk breeding for everything else.

Maybe give it a very slight chance to gain abilities like a tibbit (Dragon Compendium).
