WraithXIII 10-18-03, 02:04 PM	I gotta tell you, I am burned out. Half of the group is gone, due to work, college, or just not showing up. This affects the type of adventures I can do. Tell me, in this situation, what did you DM's do? I still have ideas, but I feel like its been done before. I still have a couple of ideas, and storylines that are currently in play, but I need some inspiration, I need a muse!
Alrunic Silverfyre 10-18-03, 03:18 PM	My suggestion is to let someone else DM YOUR ideas for a while. Give them a storyline, have them fill in the rules and filler, and be a player. Creative and DM burn out does happen and taking a break is sometimes the only way to "regenerate" your DMness.

WraithXIII 10-19-03, 01:20 AM	That would work if the other DM's were still coming. One is in Grad school, so he cannot make it. Understandable, I have known him for years and want to see him do well. The other just quit showing up. No explanations, not even letting us know if he was alive or not. I have also known him for years, and I am a bit hurt by his disappearing act. So that leaves no other DM's. I had them on a quest to repair a major artifact, Soul Edge. It is a powerful sword, and it reflects its owners personality. It can be used for great evil or great good. One of the character's got himself screwed when he picked up a sword within a tomb on this quest. It cloned him, sent the real him far away and left the clone in his place. Multiple spells were used in this trap, needless to say. The real him is currently being brainwashed and trained as a machine of death. Beyond that, I can't seem to connect one point to another, a true blank. I just feel like everything I come up with is forced, and just unoriginal in thought.
WraithXIII 10-19-03, 01:22 AM	Lets just say, I actually considered selling all my game stuff, quite a bit of it. And the clone, he thinks he is the real PC.
Purple Dragon Knight 10-19-03, 01:37 AM	Yep... as another poster mentioned, my best advice is to get another member of your group to DM the whole thing. If you have 3 players you're still good to go (because the DM can play his own PC, as in my campaign, or you can have one of the 3 players also control a cohort through leadership). That's what I did in my campaign: got a player to be the DM. It's awesome!! after one session (last night), I'm already wanting to DM again / getting some new ideas... The trick when you're burned out is to take a break, or if you can't or won't, take the original plot items for each characters and TIE THE LOOSE ENDS! it will give the players the sense their actions have finally got them somewhere, and it will clear the path for new ideas.
