| Rallaster04-19-05, 06:06 PM | Hi, I was wondering if one of you could recommend a book that has a series of adventures in it that will last for some sessions that are interconnected? My friend is new to DMing and both he and I would be interested in such a product. (I've searched the internet for a while, maybe I'm not wording my searches properly.) Thanks. |
| Lord Ian Stark04-19-05, 06:10 PM | One possibility is hitting E-Bay and looking for all the WOTC modules that take the characters from lvl 1 to 20. |
| Rallaster04-19-05, 06:11 PM | But aren't modules kind of one shot adventure things? I'm looking for something that will last for some time :) |
| ssvegeta55504-19-05, 07:20 PM | I can only think of two long campaign modules. First is City of the Spider Queen (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/fracc/885740000) which is a adventure taking 10th level characters to 18th leve, which is set in Forgotten Realms. The other is Worlds Largest Dungeon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1594720290/102-4109036-1755321?v=glance), this massive adventure should take PCs up to 1st level to 20th level, fighting every minster in the SRD. |
| Frostwind04-19-05, 07:29 PM | there is also "Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil" (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dndacc/882370000). It will take the PCs from lvl4 to 14. Its a greyhawk campaign that does not seem to hard to adapt. There are also the adventure (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20030530b) in the Downloads section of WotC site. Edit: the adventures are not interconnected. They might not fit in what your searching for Frostwind |
| Morwen04-19-05, 08:26 PM | If you are playing in the Eberron setting, the 3-part adventures Shadows of the Last War, Whispers of the Vampire's Blade, and Grasp of the Emerald Claw is worth looking into. They're sold separately, but the total cost of the 3 is about equal to 1 normal book. |
| Molu Kai04-19-05, 08:31 PM | There is also the Shakled City Adventure Path in Dungeon Magazine. It will take you from level 1 to level 20. Just go to paizo (http://www.paizo.com) and find out what issues you need to order. |
| Draco Strang04-19-05, 09:17 PM | World's Largest Dungeon is pretty nuts....I hope you're in for the long haul if you wanna use it. Another possibility is the Book of Challenges, a WOTC product that is 3.0, easily adaptable to 3.5. It has a bunch of challenges from CR1 to CR30. Some are combat oriented, and some arent. Pretty neat little tool, I've used it a ton of times. |
| Lord Ian Stark04-19-05, 10:24 PM | But aren't modules kind of one shot adventure things? I'm looking for something that will last for some time :) Used together it is one big adventure. Like others have said The City of the Spider Queen and Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil are big long adventures. Also the Dungeon magazine idea is great too. I have a subscription to it and although I have not done any of the Shackeled city adventures they would be great for what your looking for. Plus in those magazines you purchase there are many other adventures for fillers and other helpful information toward the end. |
