My PCs and you know who you are do not read or else.

The Party:
Lv. 3 Human Fighter (Lt. Cmnd in Sec army)
Lv. 3 Half-Dwarf Rogue (Lt. in Sec army)
Lv. 3 Elf Enchantress (Lt. in Talith League army, leason (sp) officer)
Lv. 3 Catfolk Sorceress (Lt. in Sec army)

First let me explain I have heavily modified the sorcerer class, at level 3 they have 3 level 0 at will spell-like abilites and 2 level 1 at will spell-like abilites, I uped the prequer. to Cha 20 and made the PC roll for stats and they got it Cha 18 with 4d8 drop the lowest +2 cha from their race, I know it sounds uber powerful but its not due to the fact they are even more specialized. This Sorceress in particular has these spell-like abilites lv 0: Detect Magic, Daze, Resistence lv 1: Magic Missile, Summon Natures Ally I and at next level will be taking a modified verson of Tasha's Hidious Laghter. I dont want to turn this into a "look how stupid MBH is for allowing that" thread.

So the PCs Nation the Duchy of Sec has ordered them to create a millita comprising 2 units (50 solgiers each) since the PCs nation and their allied nation the Talith League of City States just went to war with unknown invaders from another contoent. The only other nation to make contact with these invaders The Kingdom of Elmant a gnome and halfling nation has already signed a nonagresion pact with the invaders (for a great price they may soon regret).

The PCs have recived a Proclimation from the Arch Duke allowing them to conscript up to 50 people per settlement. They connot conscript the regular town guards since they will make up the deffencive force they can however just uproot a towns millita. They resived 1000 GP from the Arch Duke for equipment for their solgiers.

So far they have gathers 56 solgiers from 2 small settalments and 3 tribes in Sec and that includes:

10 Humans 8 Lv.1 Warriors, 2 lv. 2 warriors
10 Dwarfs 7 Lv. 1 Warriors, 2 lv 3 Experts
20 Goblins (had own equipment) 17 Lv. 2 Warriors, 1 lv. 4 adept, 2 Lv.2 Rogues.
9 Lizardfolk (had own equipment) 7 Lv. 2 Warriors, 1 lv. 3 Cleric, 1 lv. 4 Barbarian
7 Catfolk 6 lv. 2 warriors, 1 lv. 4 Adept

They plan on creating a special unit using the Barb and Rouges while having the adepts, cleric and experts support the main group. This is how they plan on using the special unit and I quote: "You know how you are always having captian Yohanson send us on those damned missions like "patrol said road for bandits" or "investigate rumors in said village" well we ae going to use these poor fools for that. Hey and if say <Elf> has to go do something in Talith and our PCs are needed in Sec we can control these guys and go with them." They plan on finding a primary caster for the special unit after they have enouph casters for their millitia.

I think that this mission is really going to let the PCs be creative and open alot of options for them but right now I'm having a hard time to think of a first tactical battle for the PC's Millita. The attackers are Dromites and Orcs, not found on PCs contonet and have never been encountered by all but a handful of explorers and very little is know about them. The first invasion force brought 2000 Dromites, 8000 Orcs and 25 hill giants. Their 3 Generals are a Half-Feind Orc Fighter 4 and Dromite Psion 7 and a Fire Giant Fighter 2.

Sec as a standing army of 5000 solgier, the Lizardfolk, Goblin/Hobgoblin and Catfolk Tribes that pledge allegence to the Arch Duke can provide a total of another 1000 solgier, the Glan tribe however has not plegded alligence yet, one of the PCs mission will be to convice them to. The Talith League has a standing army 3000 solgiers, hopeful the Glan in Talith might inspire their Sec counterparts.

The Kingdom of Elmant wants to stay out of the war and the other two countres on this contonet are so far away from the invasion they have yet to learn of it.

back to the main question, once the PCs have a Millita of around 100 solgiers what would be a good first challange for them? To intercept a force of Orcs/Dromites? Liberate a village? Defend a village from a giant raiding party?
What should the enemy force consist of? I dont have any experience with Dromites, it was one of my players who put them on that contonet with the Orcs and Giants and I dont want to ask for their help in this matter due to it will be them fighting them.

I really want to make this a memorable part of them campaign, help would be very appreiated.

I know very little about Dromite but here is a suggestion:

Officers
Lv.4 Orc Fighter (Great Sword Build, Mounted)
Lv.3 Dromite Psion (resist electricity 5, Mounted)

25 Lv. 2 Orc Warriors (10 Melee, 10 Archers, 5 Mounted)
5 Lv. 2 Dronite Wilders (3 Fire. 1 Cold, 1 Electric)

The PCs have to defend a suppy shipment going to one of the Sec army bases when they are attacked by this raiding party.

Start with the Orc archers firing 2 vollys from the right while the Melee and Mounted ones lead by the Orc Officer attack them from the front. Then a round or two latter have the Dromites Energy Ray the hell out of them from behind.

If the PCs use their forces properly like having the Adepts flying familiars scout the area they should lead of part of the threat ahead of time and hopfully move to counter the Orcs throughing everything they have at them while the Dromites attack the convoy.

Thats all I can think of right now, I hope things go well.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! I looked! Wow... Its been a while since I've been to these boards, maybe I should not have stopped seeing as my DM is using them.
I didn't really read what you posted, I only posted this message out of spite.

First off change the monster challenges to your liking. If you are not sure of what a Dromite is, change it.
As far as initial mission here are a couple of things.
1. The party scouts out a small encampments preparing for attack..and must overtake it.
2. The party+militia have recently come upon a town that is now being held by commoners on the frontier at the foothills of a mountain range. If this choke point is not defended than the bad guys have an easy and wide open entry point for miles into the continent.

Its out of my hand, it has to be those races since I co-DM. The DM for that contoent is planing the invation and I'm planing the defence, we each have a party involved. Right now hes busy with the praticular mission his party will are doing (btw we share 1 player) so he said for me to make something up for the first mission my PCs are on and he will fit it into his story and thats what I need help with. He did give me guide lines that I have to follow though when controling his forces and I have him guide lines for controling mine, we have to play to kill our PCs in these cases so its fair for the overall world, we arn't the only DMs using this world.

I dont have access to his XPH at the momoent and he is to busy to help, thats why I'm here.
