I'm volunteering to coordinate the 34th MDMC. Anybody who is qualified to judge and wants to do so, send me a PM. Also, if you have an idea for the topic of the next competition, let me know!

This might work due to the high # of MDMCs. What about a competition to combine three entries from all the MDMCs past in a cohesive story. It would be a way for players to get aquanted with MDMCs that closed long before they joined the boards. Of course, it would require a lot of research and links to all the past MDMCs. Touchstones could include things like "only one of the three entries you used earned a medal" and Just out of curiosity how does one become a qualifying judge? I'm not wanting to judge an MDMC until I win one, but I was thinking of judging a DDMC since you've stepped down.

Here's a fabulous idea... defining your acronyms the first time you use them. What the heck is a MDMC... other then lousy use of roman numerals.

What the heck is a MDMC... other then lousy use of roman numerals.Well, given that those whom he's hoping to recruit (eligible MDMC judges) know what he's talking about, and those who don't know what he's talking about likely aren't eligible, its kinda moot.

And besides, can one be dyslexic in roman numerals? MCMD would be 1950, right? Which is quite different from this being MDMC XXXIV. Hmmm... MCMDXXXIV- 1984!

No. D is 500, not 50, which is L. So 1950 would be MCML...I believe the only dyslexic re-arrangement of MDMC would be MMDC, or 2600!

Anyway, back on topic, I like the combining previous entries idea, but if we do that, we might have to give people a third week. The most obvious way to combine entries is with a small adventure, and that takes time...

I also like the idea about a mystery that isn't solvable by divination magics, as proposed by Shan_TheBabau_Burke in the Master DM Competition Topic Suggestion Thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=717545&page=5).... which by the way, wrecan, you could have use instead of creating a new thread...

As for judging, I'm not sure if I'll have time as I have applied for a second job.

Well, this was mostly as a call for judges. I threw in the request for suggestions to keep people bumping the thread... which totally worked.
:evillaugh
Seriously, I also bumped the suggestions thread.

I like this one a lot ... especially since I started the Murder Mysteries at any Level (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=758869) thread and participated in the How to play a mystery adventure (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=767601) thread!! :)
