| Dridon04-28-05, 04:00 PM | Hi all, I'm working on a extension for my campaign, its a land called Daragoth (C), its a other plane then the players are in now, so that will be a campaign as well, to actually get them here in Daragoth (C). This is the map (C) I'm working on for the land, it's digitally hand drawn on a tablet, and its far from finished... Hope you like it, and comments are very welcome... Please note it's 400 KB. Thanks for vieuwing http://img176.echo.cx/img176/7122/daragoth69wl.th.jpg (http://img176.echo.cx/my.php?image=daragoth69wl.jpg) |

| Dridon04-28-05, 04:12 PM | Thanks allot :). Well its a very long long story :D. But I've put like 10 hours in it, and still got to do half the land, and I got to do the names, and i already had the parchment from previous maps, so if I had to make that to :D. |
| mcgreeno04-28-05, 07:32 PM | Great Map, agian what's your secret, the design is very well done. Any tips on how to create such good maps???? |
| Neerie04-28-05, 07:57 PM | Great map. It would be nicer if there was a better contrast between the parchment and the land mass, by making the parchment paler maybe. |
| Dridon04-29-05, 05:05 AM | Thanks allot all, Any comments? Neerie: i'll try to do something with it ;) Sorry, but I can't tell you my secret, I've put days and weeks in it to get maps like this, and very soon my online custum map store will be launched online, so if I tell you all how I made it, there will be no more buissness for me. Sorry ;) Thanks for all the replies. |
| Tiruvel04-29-05, 05:14 PM | Ok, I'm not gonna come up with something helpful, just wanted to say : Wow, that's one goodlooking map! :D |
| Arrowhen04-29-05, 05:49 PM | Not bad. The coastlines are quite convincing and the mountains are well-placed and nicely shaded. The parchment is way too dark, though. It looks more like rusted metal than parchment. Also, the thick blurry border doesn't seem to fit will with the more precise thin lines of the continent outline. I'd tone down the border a bit and/or blur the edges of the outlines to give it a more "inky" look. All in all, while not up to WotC standards, I've seen third party products with far worse cartography. |
| Dridon05-02-05, 05:10 AM | Thanks all ;) But All in all, while not up to WotC standards, I've seen third party products with far worse cartography. What do you mean with that? |
| Arrowhen05-02-05, 11:06 AM | I just meant I'd seen "professional" maps that weren't as good. |
| Dridon05-02-05, 11:44 AM | Mokay :). All the naming and so on still has to be done. So I hope to show you guys the finished map soon ;) |
