This might actually go under the monsters lair, but I am also requiring some help organizing the encounter.

One of the PCs in my Campaingn is leaving to anther country and won't be able to play anymore for a year. So I decided to finish off the campaigne after 10 or so months of playing by a large war.

The PCs were lvl 17 and just about to finish off one of the harder genies. But to add a twist to it I said to roll their characters as lvl 20 and we'll have a final day next week before the PC leaves.

The outline is, they are trying to save a king who is dieing from the hold which the Death Genie has over the king. The PCs were also able to recover discs which are going to be used in order to cure the King after he is released from the genies grip. So the PCs rushed an large army guarding the tower which the death genie resisdes in, with an army of their own from the king.

After some smart strategy on their part and using the front of their army to attack the hordes at the front while sneaking around the back with a small amount of troops as escourts, they were able to spear through the small amount of enemys at the rear and get into the tower. Of corse they had to fight an Old Red Dragon to enter, and two golem guardians. :D

But now they are in and have to kill a general at the top of the tower (which they don't know about yet) which has the key to open a door (which they don't know about) on the first floor which leads down the BBG<--- ( or Death Genie ). The entire room that the death genie is in is a trap, and is going to be hard as hell to get through.

After they defeat this genie they are to go back to the king, but what the PCs don't know is that the Alchemist who is making the potion to cure the king from the discs is in fact using the dics to construct a BBG (the final BBG) and must defeat this last BBG in order to save their home land.

So my question is what should the BBG be and what should the alchemist really be? Wizard? Necro? Any ideas would be really helpful, thanks

The alchemist could be a janni spy in the king's court who is actually a high level sorcerer/wizard or assassin, planted there to make sure noone messes with the death genie's plans. As for the final boss - what about a fight with the king! The "alchemist" uses the disks to summon a powerful elemental or genie, which then takes posession of the king and attacks the party! The party must break the possession and then defeat the beast - all while preventing harm from coming to the king! I'm thinking the king is something like the sultan from Disney's Aladdin. Hehehe. Perfect!

I think you'll have to make something up, because there's not much out there with a magic jar/possession ability, besides ghosts and high level wizards. You could just take some kind of genie (since you seem to have that theme going on) and give it the ability to possess people. Perhaps a banishment or similar spell could be used to force it out of the king's body.
