Ok i'm running a campaign ,obviously, but I need some story and NPC help.

One difference is the world I play in. For instance, almost all the campaign settings are in one Saturn-sized world, each one is one or two continents. Yet another difference, is some extra Gods and the main antagnists called the "Crimson Gaurd". They are a super-powered, evil, yet "docile" faction that one private could wipe out the whole party IE. he's epic leveled, but they are fighting mercenaries.

Any ways, the story so far is that the normaly "docile" Crimson gaurd decides they need more land, so they take over Krynn, and no it doesnt have two moons here i'm ignoring that. :D Well the PC's get away killing mercenaries, killing a mercenary band leader and hopping on another baot to Kalamar.

Leaving a war-torn, conquered, Krynn they travel for month to a strange land of Kalamar. now I need some NPC's and some storyline help and please be free to ask me some deeper questions I can answer them.

A few questions:
What is the ultimate goal of the campaign?
Are the PCs supposed to defeat the crimson guard in the end?
What are the PCs backgrounds/motivations?
How many other settings do you expect the PCs to run through?
Are the PCs being pursued?

For NPCs ideas, check the Master DM Competitions (http://www.wizards.com/leaving.asp?url=http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=75741&origin=); there is a few ones about NPCs, monsters, random encounters, etc.

Check also the sticky thread on top of this forum NPC & Villains compendium. Also, check the Character Concepts Compilation in my sig.

You say you have more gods, do you have some rules to create new gods? Perhaps some psycho hired all the Crimsom Guards to wreak havoc and become the God of Murder? (Thanks to Baldur's Gates...)

1.
2. No the Crimson Gaurd will not be defeated.
3. Ok we have a 10th level party atm, a Gnome Barbarian, Basically he's an exiled Gnome taken to the wild, he found a stone and a axe ( these are special I will get to them later),
then theres the Shifter Fighter/were-touched, He got to Krynn in freak magic action and was pretty much made a home there in a town as a protector and hunter.
The other is a native to Krynn, a Half-Elf Fighter/Order of the Bow Initiate, he was helping refugee's get off of Krynn, he is a loyal friend and was raised by his Human father.
Lastly, there is the Human Paladin who is serving as a hired(I think) ambassador for the nations, he was just finishing exchanges and treaties when the Crimson gaurd attacked.
4. I expect about 4 or so settings
5. They will most likely, the gaurd will be a bit annoyed that people are excaping.

Interesting party composition. No arcane casters. The Paladin as the sole source of healing.

They are going to be bleeding all over the place, but you can use that to your advantage. If fact, this can be the source of a number of hooks. There could be a shortage of healing due to clerics being overtaxed by the influx of wounded, diseased, and dying refugees.

Overall note: If the Crimson Gaurd can't be stopped, and will pursue the PCs, doesn't that set up the party to ultimately fail miserably? I doubt that would be much fun for them.

Perhaps they need to gather together pieces of an ancient relic that can keep the Crimson Gaurd from overtaking the entire world. If they survive well into Epic levels, perhaps, they can actually organize some forces to push back the Crimson Gaurd.

Another idea:

Bring in other refugees from Krynn that the PCs have some connection to. People from the town the Shifter was protecting, for example.

Yes, The Crimson Gaurd are Normally docile, i'm not going to have them attack more right now, though they will most likely hire mercanries.

Now at Kalamar I could get on with the Gnome's back story, He is Half-Blue Dragon forgot to mention that.

well specifics the Paladin has some Cleric levels, and the Saint template (talked to them today so I refreshed on there Chars.)

The rock a.k.a "Gilligan" is actually a Stone Elemental Lord that was forced out by Elemeal spellcaster (do they even exist?) and then they trapped his essence in a stone on the Material Plane.

Kalamar is a desery place my friend told me (not much backround here, but he knows a little)

But i'm thinking i'm gonna build a dungeon around Djinn and Earth Elementals to find Artifacts from him.

I'll stat him, but he will be a Demi-God Elemetal with Divine Rank
For helping him they will get "stuff" and reinforcements I think....but there alot to go.

It might be cool if the last campaign is them sieging the Crimson Gaurd Continent of Crimsonia, but losing in the end, matry=ish and heroic =D

But the Crimson Gaurd will never die, we have many campaigns with them as a back story, but rule one is the Crimson Gaurd do not die.

They have literally years of history from our Games (note: I did NOT create them, one of my palyers, also our lead DM, created them) so it's hard to kill em off :weep:

Well the tree most notable Gods that are, Caine, Blaze, and Talos.
I am not the creator of the Gods or the Crimson Gaurd.

Caine: He was incharge of the Crimson Gaurd, but as of now he and his brother (Blaze) had an epic battle and Caine has disappered ad has not been seen in years.
Blaze: Blaze created the Crimson Gaurd, after years of conquering he saw ther error of his way and repented becoming Good and fighting his brother who took up his mantle as the God and Leader of the Crimson Gaurd.
Talis: is a over god of Time and life, on the leve lof Io, he does not interfere with mortals much.

these are very short bios on them, i'll ask the creator more details later =D

Heh, go easy on the bumpitudes, 3 times in 12 hours is a bit too much! ;)

Now, the gnome barbarian found a stone, and this stone hold the essence of a Stone Elemental Lord? Perhaps could you have the party find an hidden portal in the middle of the desert, leading to the Elemental Plane of Stone. It could be a great place to find lost artefacts.

Instead of sending random Crimsom Guards after the PCs, giving them the impression that killing one of them, a squad, or even a whole army means nothing, build a Crimsom Guards party who will hunt down the PCs. You could have a rogue, a cleric, a fighter, a ranger and a sorcerer, plus a bunch of low-level hirelings. Have them ask questions in the market places, inns, taverns where the PCs are hiding. The rogue should try to assassinate the PCs during the night. Have the party fight the PCs a few times, but each time the leaders escape. Have them follow the PCs in their quests to find artefacts. After a few sessions where they continually annoy the PCs, arrange a "final battle" with them.

Yes...easy on the bumps! :D

Well problem for with the Crimson Gaurd is their going to be saved for epic level. Maybe having them make allies for a assualt would be good.

And I like the portal idea, the Gnome being a Half-Blue dragon would make an interesting back story that his father helped the Elemetal Stone Lord, but why is what I need to figure out.

Though I will use the party idea for mercenaries!

Thanks Morka! :)

Ok, do far I got some NPC's, I have the 3 half-Drow wizards from the NPC thread. I'm going to make the "leader" that will always escape, and i'm going to pull up a level 9 rouge amybe aa PrC (don't know)

The 3 Drow are half-sisters of my Half-Elf player :evillaugh:

The leader is going to be possed by a Demon, though I will not give any modifiers, this will be story purposes only. When they finnally kil him, they'll have to fight the demon =)
And the Gnome's Father gunna be a Good aligned blue Dragon, who'll help the Rock Lord.

Any suggestions to make this better/change for the better?

What would y'all suggest for the NPC party "Leader"?

A Fighter. Maybe a Hexblade/Fighter?

I was think maybe a PrC, but have have no idea what would be good (spell-caster guy here) But I need something thats not like 2-shotable.

I got a Rogue/Assasin for that part of the "anti"-Party.

Story-wise this parts set thanks to y'all =)

Game nights tonight so just need to do a little more.
