| psionic pi master05-07-05, 04:35 PM | I had the idea of having a campaign setting on the material plane consisting of four layers. The bottom layer is a shadow land with lots of monsters and corrupt leaders. The next layer would be set around the fall of Rome and the beginning of the middle ages. The next layer is set at the end of the middle ages. The top layer is unknown and is a high magic setting. I'm not sure what to do with the campaign setting but I want to use the multiple layers. I had the idea that an invasion from the bottom layer unbalances the material plane and it starts falling and the characters have to save it. This idea would involve other planes. Post any comments or idea about what to do with the setting. |

However, using the overarching concept of your campaign setting in your first campaign is probably a bad idea. The players should get acquainted to the world, and so should you. You can potentially get years of usefulness and fun out of a good campaign setting, and using the War between the Layers right off the bat will likely screw up any hopes of making the setting a long-lasting and successful endeavor. And btw, Sblock your sig. I like Pi, too, but it just looks like a block of nasty. |
