| Celestial_Vision12-14-06, 09:50 PM | Hey guys, I've been working on setting up a Diablo 2 campaign using the "To Hell and Back" and "Diablerie" source books as a bit of fun when we aren't playing more serious games. The only problem is with this particular group there will be only 2 players and me as DM. As it is the game itself is VERY hack and slash and I'm just wondering how I can help the players cope with all the mobs everywhere without getting -too- complicated. They are using D&D classes with items from the Diablerie book so this should help in that respect however I will only allow core books mainly because it's what we would all prefer to use. I was tossing around the idea of allowing the gestalt variant, however having no experience with this variant I'm wondering if it will end up going overboard and making the game to easy for them. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'd rather not decrease the monsters too much as it is basically what Diablo is all about. Basically I was wondering if anyone had any opinion on gestalt characters in this type of setting -or- if anyone had better ideas on making the game hard (but still possible) for my players. I've heard alot of people didn't enjoy these books, however we play in 3 rather heavy RP games at the moment so it's nice to sit back and kill hordes of monsters every once in a while. :) |
