| Titus09-04-04, 01:08 AM | OK, basically i have this darksun game which was centred around the ascendancy to power of two characters and one NPC BBEG (after the rebellion in tyr), and the party's interaction with them. Unfortunately the two characters have left, and this means the underlying foundation no longer works. I am left with a drastically reduiced in power BBEG, and the party cooling it's heals in Tyr. I have decided that the ever resilient bbeg will continue on his quest for world domination, but is a much slower and saner process. Until i can redo the campain, i need to give the party something to do in tyr, that will hopefully not let them wander too far from the revamprd module (when i do it). So what i need is this.... The church of his divine shadow (thanks Lexx) has set up shop in tyr and the new government wants it checked out to make sure it's legit. I need some interesting plot devices to make this investigation interesting, and since the BBED will be behind it it will keep the party on track per say. Party is human preserver/psioniosist(leader), HG bodyguard, thrikreen gladiator, Arokroka fighter/psionisist, npc human water cleric, they are around 6-7th level, and medium to high magic game. Normally this wouldnt be a problem but i've dm's block at the moment. (i hate flushing campains) Any assistance you can offer would be much appreciated :) Titus 'May the shwartz be with you' |

Only members of the Sacred Order can go in there." The PCs are being hounded into conversion in order to finish their task. Depending on the laws of the City, perhaps they can do whatever they like to people who break that sacred law? When they get past that, you can give the distinct impression that they keep "missing" something. As they step into the room, the door on the far side slams shut. The "guide" insists that they check this empty room thoroughly. The far door is already locked when they get to it. By the time they enter the next room, there is nothing there. Even after that, include some secret doors with the "real" stuff. The guide won't let them search an area that has secret doors well. |

In any case, they take in funds, but divert it to the cause of the BBEG. They can have lots of little scams that support this. For example, a potion of charm person would normally cost them 25gp to make. If they could find someway of making them more cheaply (power components or something) I could see them giving away free food laced with the potion. It isn't long before everyone is thinking the temple is a pretty darn cool place. The support of the populace can also be used for political purposes. |
