| Alegron Blackwell02-03-04, 12:19 PM | I'm running an adventure and the pcs have been adventuring with an NPC cleric...what they don't know is this cleric is evil and inflitrated the group to spy on their activities and to try to kill them wit the first available oppurtunities, since it is a large group more than one pc watches at night, so no ability to attack someone then, so I decided after a battle a player will be hurt and needing healing, but the npc will do an inflict wounds instead...my question is a player can refuse to save something if they want it to happen...so if a player believes that he is getting a healing spell and negates the save...would he still be able to save vs the harmful spell if he doesn't know it's going to happen? I'm not going to kill him...just put him close to death, but injured enough that they can't follow right away becaus ehe needs healing.:b: |

Unless you gave them any overt clues to the traitor in their midst, you will have to roll a Sense Motive Check for the receiving PC and a Spellcraft check for any nearby spellcasting PC's to catch on... if they fail obviously the damaged or dead PC will be enough to let them know. |
