Puskara 04-07-05, 03:56 AM	I cannot locate an item I KNOW I have ready about in a WotC book. It is a dagger with a small repository for poison in the pommel. The daggers magic is that the poison placed in this special chamber is applied to the weapon each time an attack is made. Can anyone remember this items name and where it is located? BTW I always like my magic items to have a drawback and I was thinking it would be interesting for this item to have an inhaled poison in the chamber when used against the PCs. While I am sure the writer did not intend for the item to be used this way it would be interesting as both the weilder and any targets that round would theoretically have to make a save as the blade put off wisps of poisonous smoke. This would make the weapon somewhat dangerous to use as the weilder would have to make saves or hold thier breath (I apply cumulative minuses when holding breath, total of -2 to AC, attacks, and checks just beofre they pass out). Of course they could remove the poison. Perhaps a trap spell is in order on that hidden compartment? Any other thoughts on interesting ways to give this item some sort of drawback? Thanks Puskara
The_Ditto 04-07-05, 07:15 AM	Probably not the one you were looking for .. but it's the only one I know of: Dagger of Venom: This black +1 dagger has a serrated edge. It allows the wielder to use a poison effect (as the spell, save DC 14) upon a creature struck by the blade once per day. The wielder can decide to use the power after he has struck. Doing so is a free action, but the poison effect must be invoked in the same round that the dagger strikes. Faint necromancy; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, poison; Price 8,302 gp; Cost 4,302 gp + 320 XP.
