| runes206-15-04, 02:57 PM | i've got a copy of both the DMG and PH for 3.5 (found them cheap at a second hand book store) now, i can't seem to find epxerience for creatures. I'm not really sure how much to give out for a group of 6 goblins or a werebeast or something. I could just make it up on my own, but i figure 30 years of play testing has got a nice balanced number. where in the ph/dmg is it? im probably just skimming over it and missing something. |
| Nifft06-15-04, 03:09 PM | 3.5e DMG page 38 -- each critter has a CR, and you look up the CR / average party level on that chart, and it'll tell you the XP value of the encounter. -- N |

So if you don't have that, you may not have the proper CRs (unless you're creating your own monsters... but the MM gives you a lot of systems to help you scale that properly, too). Of course, you can always just download the 3.5 SRD... that has monster stats in it. |
