| adamiscool08-13-06, 03:13 PM | Can someone please stat out Captian Planet as a CR 20 encounter. |
| CryoSilver08-13-06, 03:34 PM | Cr 20? Dude gets his ass kicked every episode, man. |
| Nived08-13-06, 03:46 PM | Well I think it'd be safe to say he'd be an Outsider. High flyspeed with perfect manuverabitliy, access to most, if not all, of the elemental subtyped spells. Perhaps casting as a sorcerer rather than spell like abilities. Some sort of polution weakness. |
| KurenaiYami08-13-06, 03:57 PM | Cr 20? Dude gets his ass kicked every episode, man. That's just because people who pollute happen to be CR 21. |
| RiOrius08-13-06, 06:21 PM | Cr 20? Dude gets his ass kicked every episode, man. Only at first: he always comes back in the end. So obviously, he'd need to have some ability whereby his stats increase as he takes damage. |
| Vintar08-13-06, 06:51 PM | He should have barbarian levels with the rage variant that makes them get tougher as he they take damage. |
| was_fired08-13-06, 06:55 PM | There's a feat in savage species which does just that. Take a look and give him that or a variant of it as a bonus feat. :) |
| Reversefigure408-13-06, 09:58 PM | Funnily enough, I happened to be reading through the 1001 Silly Magic Items thread on the Magic and Spells board, and ran into this: The Five Elemental Rings These five rings, when used together, summon a creature of amazing power. They are activated upon command, can summon the creature once a day, and have specific abilities attached to them. Ring of Earth: this gives the wearer the ability to cast Stone To Mud as a spell-like ability at will. Caster level is equal to wearer's character level. It also grants fire and electric resistance 10. Ring of Fire: this gives the wearer the ability to cast Fireball up to 4 times per day. Caster level is equal to wearer's character level. DC 24 reflex save for half. It grants immunity to fire. Ring of Wind: this gives the wearer the ability to cast Windwall as a spell like ability at will. Caster level is equal to wearer's character level. It grants electric resistance 20. Ring of Water: this causes the wearer to constantly be under the effects of water-walk and water breathing. The wearer may suppress one of the spells at will. Grants the wearer ice immunity. Ring of Heart: this allows the wearer to make use of telepathy at will. It also allows the character to communicate telepahtically with all other of the ring wearers (from that particular set) no matter what distance, provided the wearers are conscious. Grants immunity to charms and compulsions, but not fear. SUMMONING THE CREATURE: The wearers of the ring must take a standard action to announce the names of the "element" of their rings in succession. They names must be announced in the order the rings are listed above, and each wearer may only announce the name on their own turn. Once the ritual is complete, an amazing creature with blue skin, green hair, and strange red tight-fitting clothes appears. The creature immediately announces: "By your powers combined...I am...CAPTAIN PLANET!" The creature is immune to all elements, has all the rings abilities. The creature has fly 60 ft (perfect). It has the the best of each stat from the ring wearers (the party's highest strength score is the creatures strength score) with an additional +8. The creature's hit dice (d 10s, take the averages) are equal to 1/3 the partie's combined hit dice. The creature has a pefect base attack progression, and perfect saves. He has improved unarmed strike with a monk's unarmed damage progression and armor class progression. It has all the combined skills of the ring wearers, choosing the best skill modifiers if there are duplicates. The creature operates on its own (DM controlled), but does the general will of the ring wearers, though not specific commands. It always acts as an ally. The creature lasts for 2d3+2 rounds. The ring wearers' rings are totally useless during the period that the creature is summoned. Market Price: each ring costs 70,000 GP. |
| ChaoticGood08-13-06, 10:18 PM | Let me get this straight... Your PCs are going to... fight... the... Planeteers? :twitch: |
| Nived08-13-06, 10:31 PM | You kidding I know a DM that wrote up stats for the carebears and the thundercats. |
| trapspringer08-13-06, 10:44 PM | I've caught the road runner. |
| Donraj08-13-06, 11:10 PM | Let me get this straight... Your PCs are going to... fight... the... Planeteers? :twitch: I so would do that. God I hated that show. |
| trapspringer08-13-06, 11:33 PM | What, you don't like being preached at by a bunch of Earth worshipping teen-agers in khaki shorts and safari vests? |
| CryoSilver08-14-06, 09:56 PM | I always wondered why they never just SHOT the Planeteers. I also wondered why Team Rocket never shot Ash; they had guns and rockets, after all. |
| Millennium08-14-06, 10:08 PM | So let me get this straight: we're talking about a spirit who embodies the planet's will to defend itself against those who would despoil it, and you're thinking of making him a CR20 creature? Um... OK, I guess. I think that's awfully low, but maybe that's just me. Personally, if I had to stat him out I'd start with making him a Fey (rather than an Outsider, as many here are suggesting), and then give him a nice combination of Druid and Warlock levels. Toss in some hefty DR/cold-iron and a dependency on the rings, and you've got yourself a Captain Planet. |
