| Lxarth05-13-05, 01:31 PM | I have a wizard in my game with a cloak that will allow her to summon a creature with the Anarchic Template from the Manual of the Planes. When she asked if she can apply this to a Celestial Lion I told he no, but now that I am looking at it it seems a little plausible. A Celestial creature is from a Good plane, and an Anarchic creature is from a Chaotic plane... But both templates say that any creature of chaotic (or good for Celestial) and neultral creatures can have this template. Would it seem plausible to combine these templates into one? I know, as a DM, I can do it...but from the RAW can I? Also..."A Celestial creatures a more regal and more beautiful then there earthy counterparts. Celestial creaturess often come in metallic colors..." "An Anarchic creature appears less finished, their features rough and uneven, their appearance more ragged and horrific..." How would I discribe a creature (such as a Lion) with these templates? Thanks! |

I would suggest creating new templates called "Archonic" (for axiomatic and celesital) and "Eladrinic" (for anarchic and celestial) and merge the benefits. It would look something like this: Eladrinic Template "Eladrinic" is an inhereted template that can be added to any corporeal animal, aberration, animal, dragon, fey, giant, humanoid, monstrous humanoid, magical beast, plant, or vermin of chaotic good, chaotic neutral, neutral good, or neutral alignment (referred to hereafter as the base creature. The template uses all the base creature's statistics and special abilities except as noted here. Size and Type: Animals and vermin with this template become magical beasts, but otherwise creature type is unchanged. Size is unchanged. Eladrinic creatures encountered on the Material Plane gain the extraplanar subtype. Special Attacks: An eladrinic creature retains all the special attacks of the base creature and also gains the following. Smite (Su): Once per day, the creature can make a normal attack to deal additional damage equal to its HD total (maximum +20) against a lawful or evil opponent. A lawful evil opponent takes damage as though the base creature had half again as many HD (maximum +30). Special Qualities: An eladrinic creature retains all the special qualities of the base creature and also gains the following ones: Darkvision out to 60 feet Damage reduction (see table below) Resistance to acid, cold, electricity(see table below) Resistance to fire and sonic 5 Immune to polymorph and petrification Fast healing (see table below) Spell resistance equal to HD + 5 (maximum 25) Hit Dice Resistance to Dam. Red. Fast Healing Acid, cold, elec 1-3 5 -- -- 4-7 5 5/magic 1 8-11 10 5/magic 3 12+ 10 10/magic 5 If the base creature already has one or more of these qualities, use the better value. If an eladrinic creature gains damage reduction, its natural weapons are considered as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Abilities: Same as base creature, but intelligence at least 3. Environment: Any chaotic- and/or good-aligned plane. Challenge Rating: HD 3 or less, as base creature; HD 4 to 7, as base creature +2; 8+ HD, as base creature +3 Level Adjustment: As base creature +3 |
