| Bloodtide_the_Red09-21-04, 12:11 AM | This is always tricky. One thing you can do is make things easyer for them. Make any riddles, puzzles and mysteries very easy. You can go the 'kid show' route, and make things very easy(oh, this red key must go to that red door). Or you can go the more 'teen' route. This is where you basicaly give away too many clues and hints. This is where the NPC's say stuff by mistake, for example. A bit more advanced-- For high intelligence--give him lots of details, including lots of information. Don't say wood staff, say oak staff For high Wisdom-do the 'feelings and voice in their head', so if they come across something that they should catch, let them know. It works nicely to give them a aid. A magical speaking item or animal to bring up things and bounce ideas off of. For realy realy advanced, go for the 'Alternete Reality' idea. This is where the character sees and hears things that don't realy happen in the game. Example-When asking someone if they did a murder... PC-'Did you kill Gorlp?" NPC-'No, of course not......I would have burned the body if I did' Pc-'What?' NPC-"I said no of course not' PC-"Yea but after that you said.......' Npc-'I said nothing else' Npc2-'He answered no, of course not' Player to DM-'Did I hear the burn body part or not' DM-'yes' BT |

I told him that if he could not act in character (and obviously you can't raise your own INT to match your Characters-your problem) then he would have to make another character with a higher INT, that way he can act as he would. He couldn't bring himself down to the stupidity level of his character nd finally made a new one. If your guy is to stupid to properly play a high INT character suggest to him that it would be better for him and the group that he play something with a lower INT, say a half-orc barbarian or something of that nature. |
