| ender gax preypace02-14-06, 08:28 PM | I dont know if this has been covered before, but i was wondering if there are any links out there that would assist myself and my fellow players in naming their characters??? any name generators or anything??? |
| Delfedd02-14-06, 08:45 PM | http://rinkworks.com/namegen/ I wouldn't suggest using a name generation thing to make the characters though. I often tell my players to use dictionary.com , and then just enter something into Spainish or french or something. So The wizard could be called Zauberer, Which is german for wizard. |
| irzg9zh3psgq3m0902-14-06, 08:53 PM | http://www.babynamesworld.com/ There are some wicked foreign names that many have probably never heard about. Just click "browse by origin" on the left column and choose what you want. I mean, Mykelti (African), Beriszl (Hungarian), Myrrh (Egyptian), these are just a few awesome names to list. |
| Melpomene02-14-06, 10:32 PM | Angel names (http://www.fortunecity.com/millennium/rover/120/aglnam.html) I use this often for good charicters. Babel Fish (http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr) If you want to translate a word into a dozen languages, this is the site to do it at. |
| Tharivol02-14-06, 11:38 PM | http://www.babynames.com/ I put in words that fit and then set the search for "this meaning" to find names from various cultures that fit the character. |
| Melpomene02-14-06, 11:54 PM | Also, as a general rule of thumb, do try to only post one copy of a topic. If you feel it belongs in a different forum, poke a moderator and ask them to move it. |
| Fixxxer02-15-06, 01:48 AM | The Ever-Changing Book of Names (http://ebon.uni.cc/) is, quite simply, the best name generator I've run across yet. It's free as shareware, but if you like it, I'd suggest you go ahead and pay the $6 to register it, as it will generate literally dozens of names with one click if you do. |
